Community Supports enhance a person's involvement in the community. All supports are developed with the individual to meet their individual needs and desires. People are supported to acquire and maintain skills that will assist them to be a part of their community. Supports can be individual, shared with another client or small groups. Small group community supports are offered for half and whole day opportunities. MCCSS funded programs are available as well as fee for service and passport funded activities.
- Participating in community programs offered in recreation, leisure and/or education.
- Personal shopping, grocery shopping (menu planning, list preparation, food storage, food safety).
- Utilizing various community services (examples: public transportation, financial institutions).
- Supporting people to participate in community volunteer opportunities throughout the community.
